What is the China Space Monitor?

China Space Monitor brings monthly insights on the Chinese space industry. Levering data from Orbital Gateway Consulting’s China Space Industry Database and Research Products, the Monitor is delivered at the end of each month with a feature story and a sampling of the month’s major news updates. We aim for holistic, objective analysis. China Space Monitor is written by Blaine Curcio, with occasional contributions from Jean Deville.

About the authors

Blaine Curcio has been covering the Chinese space industry as an analyst and consultant since 2012, initially covering global satellite communications (incl. China) and focusing on the broader space sector since 2017. Based in Hong Kong, Blaine is Managing Director of Orbital Gateway Consulting, where he oversees collection and visualization of Chinese space industry metrics and datapoints for a variety of clients.

Previous contributing authors include Jean Deville, an aerospace engineer by training, and host of the highly recommended, Dongfang Hour YouTube channel, which produces excellent deep-dives into the Chinese space industry.
